Ready for some more of the powered exoskeleton-fueled boxing anime madness that is Megalo Box? Well, it looks like Funimation has got you covered there with the second season: Nomad. At least, whenever it makes its debut.

Huh, older and grittier. This is giving me Logan vibes.

Funimation officially announces that Megalo Box 2: Nomad will join their Spring 2021 anime lineup. Unfortunately, that’s about as specific as we can get at the moment. Funimation doesn’t give us a date any more precise than “Spring”. I suppose that we’ll just have to watch out for “Gearless” Joe in the coming months. We’ll just have to be satisfied with the teaser trailer in the meantime.

Megalo Box 2: The Time Skip

The Logan vibes are definitely strong with this one.

There’s also not much in the way of details for Megalo Box 2: Nomad. The most Funimation has revealed so far is that the sequel will take place 7 years after the end of the first season. Apparently, they were 7 very long years indeed. Can’t you tell by the beard?

Beards are like clocks: they both tell you if time has passed.

The Nomad part of Megalo Box 2 does give a bit more of a hint as to what happens in the anime. As does the teaser trailer above, really. It seems like “Gearless” Joe hits the road, grows a beard, gets addicted to drugs, grows a beard, starts to doubt himself, and did I mention that he grows a beard? It’d be pretty awesome if it weren’t for the random patches missing off of it. To be fair though, he is boxing with powered exoskeletons, so some facial injuries are to be expected.

The beard is almost as strong with this one.

Conclusion

Megalo Box 2: Nomad will be coming to Funimation in Spring 2021. Unfortunately, that’s about as specific as we can get until we get some official information about this anime series. Watch out for “Gearless” Joe and his powered exoskeleton boxing in the coming few months.
