Update January 13th:

Ray Fisher has taken to Twitter to announce publicly his departure from the role of Cyborg. He outlines in his post about how Walter Hamada did everything in his power to tamper down his accusations of abuse by Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg. It’s now official that Cyborg won’t be in the upcoming The Flash film.

Not all the DC news coming out right now is positive. After Walter Hamada’s huge New York Times expose about the future of DC films came out last week, it looked like the future was rosy. It turns out that not everything behind the scenes is working out. Ray Fisher has publicly come out against the leader of DC Films. Now, he’s done with DC and the upcoming The Flash film. According to The Wrap and Ray Fisher’s Twitter, he won’t be reprising his role in the upcoming mega-film for DC.

He was set for a cameo role in the film, but declined due to the leadership of DC under Hamada. Note this, Hamada was not the head of DC films when Justice League was made. Cyborg won’t be recast in the upcoming film. Fisher’s last appearance as the character will be in the upcoming “Snyder Cut” of Justice League on HBO Max.

You can read more about the upcoming The Flash movie and it’s impact on the DC film universe, here and here. It’s safe to say that this movie very well could be a jumping off point for the DC film universe. So far, all of it’s films have been pretty grounded in reality. We might be headed towards a Multi-verse of sorts for the DC film universe.

We’ll have to see when that film releases, but it will not have Cyborg in it, as was originally planned.
