Ghostbusters: Afterlife IMAX Poster the Passing of the Ecto-1

It is November and that means we are finally going to see Ghostbusters: Afterlife.  Fans have waited over 30 years for this film. Now, after many delays, we are one step closer. The film is set to release on November 19th. .

In anticipation for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Sony has debut a new IMAX poster. To kill some time while you wait, why not take a look for yourself down below.

The poster shows Egon’s granddaughter in front of the iconic Ecto-1 shooting from her proton pack. In the background you can faintly see the Ghostbusters’ logo. This poster is one of many teasers, trailers, and other images promoting Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It’s safe to say that with all the teasing, fans are more than ready for the much anticipated release. Now, the question, will the hype be enough to breathe new life into the box office. With its exclusive theatrical release, as opposed to same day streaming, only time will tell.

Much like the Ecto-1 on the poster, this film is a passing of the Proton Pack. This is because Jason Reitman is the son of the original Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman. Jason also co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan and his father, Ivan, serves as a producer. Ghostbusters: Afterlife will take place in the same universe as the original two films. With the Ghostbusters: Afterlife, we will also get a set of new Ghostbusters consisting of Finn Wolfhard (Richie in It, Mike in Stranger Things­), McKenna Grace (Young Carol in Captain Marvel, young Theo in The Haunting of Hill House), Carrie Coon (Proxima Midnight in Avengers), and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man in the Marvel Universe).

The official synopsis of Ghostbusters: Afterlife is

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. Ghostbusters: Afterlife is written by Gil Kenan & Jason Reitman.

As we can see, along with the new cast members, the original Ghostbusters will also make an appearance. Reprising their old roles are Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. How much we see of them still remains a mystery though.

With that said, put on your Flight Suits, grab your proton packs, and head to the nearest theater on November 19th for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Time to catch some nostalgia.
