Director Will Gluck is teaming up with Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell on a new R-rated rom-com at Sony. According to Deadline, the film is still untitled but will focus on the two sought-after stars. The project is based on a script from Ilana Wolpert, which Gluck is rewriting.
Shooting on the project is expected to start at the end of next month. The big issue for Sony was trying to fit the schedule in between Sweeney’s shooting on the upcoming season of Euphoria. This isn’t the first time that Sony has done business with her though. She’s currently involved with Madame Web, a new Spider-Man universe film, a remake of Barbarella, and The Registration.
Glen Powell has seen his profile raised to meteoric heights with the release of Top Gun: Maverick and Devotion. He’s got Deputy X and Foreign Relations coming up on his docket.
Gluck is known for directing Easy A and Friends With Benefits.
We’ll have to see how the movie develops and what the plot is when we get closer to a release date.
