Fans of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic were thrilled when a high-definition remake of the game was announced during Sony’s Games showcase in September of 2021. Aspyr has recently fired two directors this month that were working on the game, and told staff that the game is on pause while they try to figure things out. Bloomberg was the first with the news.

This is definitely disappointing news for fans of the game and those who wanted to see the game released on the PS5. Star Wars has had a bit of bad luck lately regarding games and movies that aren’t getting off the ground once they’re announced. Most famous was Star Wars: 1313, which was canceled but not after a tech demo that set the internet aflame.
