[Article updated January 23, 2020] When Emperor Palpatine issued Order 66, nearly the entire Jedi Order was wiped out in one fell swoop. One wonders, if the Jedi were so wise and powerful, how that could have happened. It turns out that it might just have been a matter of training. While some of even the most powerful Jedi, like Ki Adi Mundi, fell quickly, others like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Ahsoka, all survived.
What Does Ahsoka Have In Common With Yoda and Obi-Wan?
She, like they did, primarily practiced the fourth form of lightsaber combat, Akaru. You can learn all about Akaru and how it likely helped her survive in the video above. Ahsoka’s prowess with her lightsabers suddenly has new meaning, however. Earlier this week Disney and Lucasfilm released a new trailer for The Clone Wars Season 7. (You can watch the new trailer HERE.) From the trailer we learn that there is going to be an epic duel between Ahsoka and Maul. Obviously, we know they survive their battle as they both appear later in Star Wars Rebels.
There is a lot we still don’t know about Ahoska. Yes, we did get some insight in E.K. Johnston’s book about the character. Notwithstanding, there are still some significant gaps in her character development between the end of Clone Wars Season 5 and the new Season 7. We’re sure to learn how she hones her skills in Akaru and is able to survive the duel with Maul as The Clone Wars series comes to an end.
