There’s been a titanic update to the Star Wars movie schedule. Variety reports that Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron movie and Kevin Feige‘s untitled Star Wars movie have both been canceled. They also report that Taika Waititi‘s untitled movie could take over the December 2025 release slot that’s now opened up. As for Rian Johnson‘s Star Wars films, they don’t have any news on that front. He’s been preoccupied with Knives Out, Glass Onion, and Poker Face for the time being.

As for Waititi, his film has been in development, and he most likely would have a part in the film as an actor. They’re also committed to a Star Wars movie from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who directed two episodes of Ms. Marvel and the award-winning documentaries Saving Face and A Girl In The River: The Price Of Forgiveness. That film is the one that Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson have been working on that’s supposed to be set after The Rise of Skywalker.

As for official announcements from LucasFilm, we can expect plenty of fireworks at the Star Wars Celebration this year. It emanates from London, UK, the weekend of April 7th. These films are joined by upcoming seasons and series like Andor, The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, and Ahsoka.

This is a huge batch of news for Star Wars fans, but it shows that LucasFilm is at least on the ball with getting movies out after taking such a long time off.
