Prepare for trouble and make it double. Netflix is dropping a new mystery-thriller limited series soon called Echoes.

The story follows two identical twins, Leni and Gina, who share a dangerous secret. Since they were children, Leni and Gina have secretly swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults: they share two homes, two husbands, and a child. But everything in their perfectly choreographed world is thrown into disarray when one of the sisters goes missing.

Check out the trailer for Echoes below.

The series stars Michelle Monaghan as twins Leni and Gina. The cast also includes Matt Bomer, Daniel Sunjata, Ali Stroker, Karen Robinson, Rosanny Zayas, Michael O’Neill, Celia Weston, Gable Swanlund, Tyner Rushing, Hazel and Ginger Mason, Alise Willis, and Maddie Nichols.

Echoes comes from creator, writer, and executive producer Vanessa Gazy (Eden) and EPs/showrunners Brian Yorkey (13 Reasons Why) and Quinton Peeples (Runaways).

The seven-episode limited series will premiere on Netflix August 19.

  1. ***SPOILER ALERT***
We have now watched the entire thing, and are dumbfounded…not only by how bad it was…but by the sheer volume of (atomic bomb) hints there were to it being split personality disorder, that in reading reviews, NO ONE else seemed to catch. Obviously, there was no satisfying conclusion, but I’m still shocked that no one else seemed to notice or comment on it in their reviews.

  2. Thank you for saying it. I was beginning to think I was the crazy one! It had a significant Shutter Island, Identity, Fight Club vibe (obvious unreliable narrator) to me.
