Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings series will kick off season 2 with a bunch of new cast members. The Rings of Power revealed an additional eight recurring stars today.

The just-announced stars include Oliver Alvin-Wilson (The Bay), Stuart Bowman (The Pact), Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War), William Chubb (Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones), Will Keen (Ridley Road), Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton).

This group joins previously announced recurring cast members including Sam Hazeldine, Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Nia Towle, Nicholas Woodeson, and newcomer Amelia Kenworthy.

Hazeldine will take over the role of orc leader Adar in season 2. He replaces Joseph Mawle, who played the character in season 1. Otherwise, we don’t have any character details for the other announced actors at this time. However, co-creator/EP Patrick McKay did reveal that the elf Círdan will appear in season 2. (Círdan carries one of the rings of power until passing it off to Gandalf). So, one of these new cast members could take on that role.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of the popular films. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil.

Season 2 of The Rings of Power is currently in production in the UK. You can stream season 1 on Prime Video now.

We don’t have a release date for season 2 yet, but check back to THS for more updates.
