Hayley Atwell is no stranger to action and adventure. She’s starred in Marvel films, Mission: Impossible, and now she’s voicing Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series. They’re adapting the video game series into an anime. According to the Netflix Geeked Twitter account, Atwell’s Lara Croft picks up after the events of the newest video game trilogy. There’s plenty of lore to go around with the Tomb Raider series, so it’ll be interesting to see where they take the story.
Tomb Raider has had an up and down go with adaptations. The Angelina Jolie-led films from the early 2000’s were a bit of a miss. The Alicia Vikander Tomb Raider from 2018 saw more positive reviews, but was still mixed. The games have been getting better and better as the years go on though. With the most recent release, Shadow of the Tomb Raider giving us an end to Square Enix’s trilogy of games.
As for plot details, the only thing we know now, is that Atwell is voicing Croft. We’ll keep you updated as this story and show develops.
