Normally a delay for a game is trouble. In the case of Evil Dead: The Game it might be better for it. Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive announced today that the game would no longer release in 2021. It’s moving to Early 2022, February-ish. The new time isn’t only for bug fixes and polish, however. Here’s what the developers had to say in a Tweet:

Hey groovy gamers, we’re targeting a new release date to give the team some extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience you’re all waiting for! This additional time is also allowing us to implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres.

So, it’s for a single-player option just in case you want to play like that! Bruce Campbell returns to voice Ash Williams alongside Ellen Sandweiss as Cherly from the original Evil Dead. Marcus Gilbert, Richard DeManicor, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo return from previous films and the show Ash Vs. Evil Dead to voice their respective characters.

The game follows a similar style to the Friday the 13th game where you play against other people trying to survive or kill the other players.

Evil Dead: The Game releases next February 2022 for the PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
