Nintendo Direct 2023 is the time for Nintendo to give out new info on their upcoming games, and Pikmin 4 is certainly no exception. In fact, Nintendo is even revealing when we’ll finally get to play it with their new trailer. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out that trailer for yourself, and revel in the Pikmin (both old and new) and doggie cuteness? Yes, you read me right. There will be a cute pupper in this latest Pikmin game for the Nintendo Switch.

Pikmin 4: Details

Spooky yet cute ghost Pikmin? I’m all for that!

Nintendo Direct 2023 is giving us some brand new information about the upcoming Pikmin 4 with that new trailer above on YouTube. Said trailer shows off quite a few of the new gameplay features, complete with a helpful narrator explaining it all (even if he pronounces “Pikmin” weirdly). In particular, the trailer introduces us to the cute, fluffy, and weirdly bipedal alien doggo for this game: Oatchi. This good boy can do it all: help carry things, smash obstacles, ferry Pikmin across water, and even help fight enemies. Astute viewers might notice that Oatchi has a health bar though, so you might want to be a bit careful about the last bit though. You know, lest you get the good boy into a bad situation.

That’s not all for Pikmin 4 though. Now you can actually venture out at night instead of sleeping it off like in previous games. You can even find a new ghostly Glow Pikmin type at night as well. What more could you possibly want out of a Pikmin game?

Fortunately, that Nintendo Direct 2023 trailer also gives us a release date as to when we can expect to play the game. Apparently, Pikmin 4 will make its debut on July 21, 2023. That’s only a month away as of this writing, so you won’t have long to wait. In fact, you can preorder the game right now in both digital and physical form on the Nintendo eShop for $59.99.
